    Here is a list of CAD formats that can be imported into Sim4Life:

    • SEMCAD X models (.sem)
    • ACIS SAT and SAB
    • IGES
    • ProEngineer assemblies and parts
    • CATIA v4 and v5 (*)
    • STL
    • VTI
    • VTP
    • VTU
    • STEP
    • 3DS
    • I-DEAS
    • ODB++ (*)

    (*) Note that not all of these formats are activated by default - some require a separate license

      The list is actually quite a bit longer.

      For surface meshes is includes:

      • VTK
      • PLY
      • OBJ
      • OFF
      • DAT (iSEG/ViP surface format)

      For image data it includes:

      • PRJ (iSEG project files)
      • NIFTY (NII, NII.GZ)
      • DICOM
      • MHA/MHD
      • NRRD

      For unstructured meshes it includes:

      • Exodus II
      • VTU
      • NASTRAN (partial support)
